Start with the wall guests will notice

Look for a clear view from the entrance or main dining area. A wall behind a host stand, beside a bar, or along a seating area can become a focal point without surrounding every table with artwork. Check what might block the view, including lighting, shelving, plants, and furniture.

Make the artwork feel like your restaurant

A mural can suggest a destination, highlight an ingredient, express a neighborhood connection, or build on colors already used in your brand. A restaurant name can be part of the composition, but it needs enough contrast to read at a glance. Our Venice-inspired concept pairs a restaurant name with a nighttime canal scene; a different space may call for something simpler or more abstract.

Plan the scale and the edges

Measure the visible wall area, then decide which parts of the artwork need to remain clear above booths and tables. Leave room around outlets, fixtures, and doors. Wall Stories Creative designs printed imagery to soften before the ceiling, floor, and both side boundaries. That lets the composition end intentionally within the printable area.

Check the surface before finalizing the design

Painted drywall and brick create different visual effects. Color, texture, finish, and the wall’s condition can change how artwork appears, so the surface should be reviewed before a final print plan or quote. A photo of the full wall and a close-up of its texture are useful first steps.
